Shell Kit Package
Exterior Log Walls -Dry Eastern White Cedar profiled logs, pre-cut to plan specifications, drilled for spiking and numbered for ease of on-site construction.Gable Ends - Loft style units feature full log Gable ends, pre-cut to match cathedral trusses. For single level units, log siding/sheathing is attached to Gable truss.
Roof System - Factory built, engineered trusses to plan specs, 5/8" plywood sheathing, pre-painted starter strip and 25 year asphalt shingles. (Valley flashing felt paper and ice/water shield as required.)
Dormers - Cedar log sidings over plywood sheathing and 2 x 6 framing, with engineered roof trusses and log corner extensions.
Vents - Wood gable vents (with screens) continuous soffit vents.
Fascia/Raker - Random length 1 x 6 dressed pine with 2 x 4 random rakers.
Soffits - Random length tongue/groove cedar
Windows - Wood frame, Low-E glass (argon gas filled) with screens and custom rough-buck installation frames. Customer choice of styles.
Exterior Doors - To plan specifications, including 36" pre-hung steel entry units, patio and terrace styles, with all hardware and rough-buck frames.
Loft Support Beams - (Loft models only) 4 x 8 dressed laminated spruce beams, with metal plates for secure attachment to walls. Exposed tie beams are supplied as required per plan.
Porches & Decks - joists are treated spruce, with joist hangers (support posts are to be supplied by the owner). Cedar decking, posts, railings and decorative pickets. Porch roof is an engineered truss system on a 2 ply 2 x 8 beam over square 6 x 6 cedar posts.
Miscellaneous Shell Kit Materials - Two inch log siding for box joist cover. All required nails, spikes, foam gaskets and caulking. Log location drawings. Step-by-step construction manual.
Interior Package
Interior Framing - Kiln dried 2 x 4 studs and plate stock, with 2 x 6 framing for support and plumbing walls. Random length cedar or kiln dried pine tongue/groove Vjoint for all wall finishes and complete ceiling area, with drywall as an option.Interior Doors - To plan specifications, six panel pine doors and/or louvered closet bifolds, including hinges, knobs, etc.
Trims & Mouldings - Random length colonial style pine mouldings 3 ½" base - 2 ½" casings - door jambs, door stop, cove trims and outside corner mouldings.
Stairways - (To second level only) kiln dried pine risers and treads, over triple x2 x 12 stringers. Railings include pine posts, pine railings (2 x 4) and decorative pickets.
Loft Decking & Railings - Two inch tongue and pine groove kiln dried pine. Loft railings to match stairway.
Miscellaneous - Loft support posts and all required nails and fasteners
The following materials are the responsibility of the purchaser:
Foundation & SubfloorAll electrical and plumbing materials
All cabinets and finish flooring (except the loft)
Water supply and sewage disposal
Ceiling insulation and vapor barriers
Interior and exterior wood preservative
Any masonry items - fireplaces, steps, etc.
Deck steps beyond the 72" height
On-Site Assistance - Each unit from the log home series includes on-site construction assistance from one of the experienced log home builders
